25.11.2024- DRI seized 2.2 kgs of hy onic weed Ganja concealed inside packets labeled as chocolates/snacks at Hyderabad International Airport from a passenger arriving from Bangkok.

25.11.2024- DRI seized 71 40 000 sticks of foreign-origin cigarettes concealed in a container at Kolkata Port. The cigarettes were mis-declared as baby diapers.

24.11.2024- DRI seized 6 live Eastern Blue-Tongued Lizards concealed in cake packets from two passengers traveling from Bangkok at Visakhapatnam Railway Station.

24.11.2024- DRI seized 41 live wild animals including Asian Forest Tortoises and Rattle Snakes concealed with plastic toys and clothes from two passengers at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport Hyderabad.

23.11.2024- DRI seized 2 kg of methamphetamine tablets and 845 grams of heroin concealed in a tyre of a truck intercepted in Silchar Assam.

23.11.2024- DRI seized 340 grams of cocaine concealed in a passenger’s baggage at CSMI Airport Mumbai.

17.11.2024- DRI intercepted two individuals in Ramnathapuram Tamil Nadu seizing 4.46 Kg of foreign-origin gold concealed in a two-wheeler and body.

17.11.2024- DRI seized 10 10 000 sticks of foreign-origin cigarettes concealed in a hidden cavity behind the driver’s seat of a truck intercepted in Mirzapur UP.

16.11.2024- DRI intercepted a courier consignment in Delhi seizing 1 049 grams of foreign-origin gold concealed inside a blender.

14.11.2024- DRI seized 7.87 Kg of methamphetamine tablets valued at Rs. 7.87 crore from a car in Aizawl Mizoram.

13.11.2024- DRI intercepted three persons in Muzaffarpur seizing 932 grams of foreign-origin gold bullion concealed in a vehicle.

13.11.2024- DRI seized 4.2 Kg of cocaine from a person traveling from Thailand to Delhi. Value Rs. 42 crore.

13.11.2024- DRI seized 5.5 Kg of foreign-origin gold from an individual in Madurai. Gold was concealed in crude gold bars.

12.11.2024- DRI seized 49 000 USD and Rs. 90 000 INR from three passengers attempting to smuggle foreign currency from Bangalore to Abu Dhabi.

12.11.2024- DRI intercepted four traffickers and seized a live Indian Pangolin in which was being illegally trafficked in Kadiri Andhra Pradesh.

11.11.2024- DRI seized 38 600 USD from two persons who were intercepted at Charbagh Railway Station Lucknow.

11.11.2024- DRI seized 570 000 fake foreign-origin cigarettes concealed in a truck near Maniyari toll plaza Muzaffarpur Bihar.

10.11.2024- DRI seized 19 576 grams of 24 KT gold chains from 25 passengers arriving in Chennai from Singapore. Gold was concealed in their clothing and luggage.

09.11.2024- DRI intercepted a passenger arriving in Calicut from Dubai and seized 933 grams of foreign-origin gold concealed inside a rear aircraft lavatory panel.

09.11.2024- DRI intercepted a customer executive and a ground handling staff member at Mumbai Airport seizing 3 350 grams of gold in paste form. Both arrested.

07.11.2024- DRI intercepted three passengers at Coimbatore Airport arriving from Sharjah and Singapore. Seized 839 grams of gold chains and 2 419 grams of crude gold chains. One passenger arrested.

06.11.2024- DRI intercepted two passengers arriving in Surat from Sharjah and seized 5 967.98 grams of gold in solid and paste form concealed inside their clothing and shoes.

Reward Scheme

The Directorate of Revenue intelligence appreciates and encourages information provided by the informers. The inputs by the conscientious citizens of the country helps DRI to prevent the illegal import and commercial frauds, which otherwise are detrimental to the economy of our country. To appreciate and encourage the citizens, monetary reward based on the value of the confiscated goods and penalty realised. The extent of reward depends upon the specificity and accuracy of the information, the risk and trouble undertaken, the extent and nature of the help rendered by the informer, whether information gives clues to persons involved in smuggling, or their associates etc. In exceptional cases the reward to the informers can be as high as 20% of the value of confiscated goods and penalty realised. However, the informer is discouraged from submitting any false information, which is liable to prosecution. The reward is disbursed only after conclusion of adjudication/ appeal/revision proceedings. The final reward is determined on the basis of the net sale proceeds of goods seized/confiscated (if any) and/or the amount of additional duty/fraudulently claimed Drawback recovered plus penalty/fine recovered.
